The title of this show is attributed to the title of a small work on paper by the influential Irish artist Patrick Hall to whose work i am greatly indebted as a source of inspiration.
At the heart of this collection of work is a curious relationship between the physical,celestial and social landscapes of our being. The work deals with the fleeting and ephemeral nature of life, things that are commonly shadowed or invisible to the human eye. Throughout the show there lies an elusive narrative. Images of trees, mountains, stars, lottery numbers are as important as the carefully chosen surfaces and in some cases, tools used. Much is left to chance. Birth and journey prevail, a possible future mapped. Considered together become a kind of cryptic alphabet, narrating a very intimate quest.
